The village of Lantzville offers a slower pace of life located five minutes north of Nanaimo. A world of small stores with shopkeepers that remember your name and people nod and smile at their neighbours. Beachcombing the vast beach assesses and strolling along familiar trails; residents take pride in their homes and gardens. Every Sunday afternoon from May through October the residents gather at the downtown Lantzville Farmers Market forming the best in local produce and crafts made by area artisans. The community boasts just 5,000 residents and was incorporated June 25, 2003. Huddlestone Park is a popular recreatioin and picnic area near the village centre that is also available for private functions. Lantzville’s highlights are the small town appeal, being minutes from Nanaimo largest shopping centres, but the 4.5 kilometres of beach with some of the best views on Vancouver Island are equally drawing to residents and visitors.
